Annual Parish Picnic
The annual Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday, July 13, from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. In addition to the food, fun and dancing, this picnic is an important fundraiser for our parish and for the Merton Center. As in the past years, we will donate 25% of the proceeds to The Thomas Merton Center’s food pantry. Please consider volunteering some of your time or resources to this event. Here are some ways to help in the coming weeks:
Volunteer Sign up—Please join us for coffee in the front of the church after all the Masses next weekend. Don’t miss your chance to help at the picnic! You can also signup by contacting Marcy Vidoli at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-259-6561 or sign-up on our website. There will be a sign-up insert in next week’s bulletin as well!
“Tent Night”—give us a hand setting up some tents or making a final sort through the White Elephant items on Tuesday evening, July 8, at 7pm.
Jewelry—We are collecting old/new/broken jewelry for the annual picnic. Please enclose your name and phone number with your donation so anything valuable can be returned to you and either call Mary Anne Sulik (203) 877-6573 for a pickup or drop off your jewelry on the back porch of the rectory before Sunday, June 29th.
White Elephant Items—We are collecting treasures to sell in the White Elephant Booth (just about anything EXCEPT electrical items, cribs, car seats, large furniture, clothing, or sports/exercise equipment). Items may be dropped in front of the middle garage.
Fabric and Yarn—If you have any leftover fabric or yarn from various projects, we will re-sell them to quilters, knitters, and crafters in search of a bargain. Please place your fabric and/or yarn in the designated plastic bin next to the center garage or in the labeled box on the rectory porch.
