Dear Parishioners – 3.14.21
As we enter the fourth week of Lent, I am struck by a few thoughts: one could say we have been living in the season of Lent for the past year; we are halfway through Lent, and perhaps we haven’t found a way of preparing that fits our needs/schedules, etc.; and the weather today (Tuesday) is just lovely, spring-like, and brings to mind that we will actually be celebrating Holy Week and Easter this year, unlike last.
If you are looking for something to help you prepare for the coming celebrations, check out the diocesan website where Bishop Frank, always looking forward, has introduced “A Call to Renewal.” This website contains materials for spiritual and pastoral renewal, along with the Bishop’s Pastoral Exhortation, Let Us Enter the Upper Room. The website is: https://www.bridgeportdiocese.org/call–to-renewal/welcome/
Now for the coming Holy Week – (all services will be live-streamed)
Palm Sunday, March 28; Masses at 10 am and 12 pm;
Holy Thursday, April 1; Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:30 pm;
Good Friday, April 2; Good Friday Passion of the Lord Service at 3 pm; Holy Saturday, April 3; The Great Vigil of Easter at 7:30 pm;
Easter Sunday, April 4; The Resurrection of the Lord Masses at 10 am and 12 pm.
*Reservations are required for all services and will be accepted beginning Monday, March 22.
I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled that we can celebrate this year, even while under some restrictions.
