Love Thy Neighbor
Tn today’s Gospel we hear the story of the Samaritan who took pity on his neighbor who had been beaten and robbed, and cared for his needs. Tn doing so, he obeyed Jesus’ admonition to “love your neighbor as yourself,” the command that is second only to loving God with all your heart, being, strength and mind.
This Sunday, at our annual picnic, we have the opportunity to bear witness to love of God and neighbor, by joining together in celebration of our parish picnic where we open our doors (and hearts) to the many who come to partake in the festivities. Let’s make this a joyful and fun day for all, the workers and the guests. who knows Who might stop by to take note of how we put our faith and love into action…
